TEST FARM OPERATIONS
Hamilton, New Zealand
We are an award-winning, innovative company designing and building advanced technology to automate farming. Our world-leading guidance control techniques shift cows remotely removing the need for fences and eliminating the manual nature of shifting animals. Halter aims to enable a new generation of more efficient, sustainable farming globally.
What will you be working on?
We require someone to oversee and run the day to day operations of our research dairy farm based 10 minutes out of Morrinsville. This is not the usual Farm Manager role but far more exciting. Our GPS enabled, solar-powered devices are designed to remotely guide cows. They require multiple levels of control software in order to record everything about the animal, understand it, and act on this information accordingly.
You will facilitate the training and testing of cows and product features
You will provide input and insights into our innovative cow training processes
You will help our small team to ensure their work is carried out efficiently and effectively
You will enable the data collection processes of our cow collar devices
You will be required to do some hands-on farm work to facilitate our on-cow testing
Who are we looking for?
Our ideal person enjoys the outdoors and working with livestock. They will be tech-savvy and have the ability to figure out any task put in front of them. They will also be process-oriented and enjoy working in a team environment.
We are looking for someone full-time with Saturdays and Sundays required every second or third weekend. Weekend days can be traded for weekdays if desired.
